The Teaching of History Workshop
We are pleased to announce that The Ratiu Forum invites Romanian History Teachers tothe first edition of The Teaching of History Workshop, which will take place at the Ratiu Democracy Centre.
Time & Location
The overall purpose of this initiative is to invite Romanian school teachers to explore together the various versions of history and methods used in school-teaching. The main goal is the treatment of contemporary as well as the dark side of Central European countries history that is either ignored or denied. For this, we are inviting Romanian History Teachers to apply for the workshop.
The Teaching of History Workshop will be conducted by John Lotherington, director of the 21st Century Trust in London. He began his career in history education. He has published numerous books on the subject and is an associate board member and former Chair of the Foundation for Democracy and Sustainable Development.
Eligibility: We welcome applications from English speaking History teachers, that are interested in sharing their knowledge and debating on the topics mentioned above. We will announce The Participant List of acceptance by the 7th of February 2020.
Logistic details: You will be hosted and catered by the organizers at the family home, Casa Ratiu (https://casaratiu.ro/), in Turda, between 21th-23rd of February. All participants are kindly requested to organize and cover expenses for their travel to and from Turda.
